Palmetto A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sara Nassif at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014, in the St. Thomas Catholic Church. Reverend James Nguyen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will be held at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Nassif, age 92, died on Monday, November 3, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System.

Sara retired with the St. Landry Parish School System after working 43 years as a school secretary and received the Outstanding Support Personnel of the Year award. Sara will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kergy Nassif Smith and husband, Richard, of Tyler, TX her sons, Michael Nassif and wife, Sue, of Palmetto, LA Mark Nassif of Baton Rouge and her sister, Mary Dixon of Baker, LA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amy Lyle Smith Eric Ellis Smith and wife, Natalie Nicholas Mark Smith Michael Nassif, Jr. and wife, Jamie Jason Najah Nassif and wife, English and four greatgrandchildren, Cody Ellis Smith, Kinley Nichole Smith, Adeline Grace Nassif and Clarissa Anne Nassif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Najah Nassif her parents, Joseph and Maggie Polozola and her brother, Stephen Polozola.

Visitation will be held at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Palmetto on Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.
