Sandra Sellers

Funeral services for Sandra Palombo Sellers will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Sandra, age 71, was a longtime resident of Church Point. She passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at her home. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crocheting baby blankets. As a pastime she would enjoy reading and playing cards. She was a loving person who won the "Mother of the Year" for a record breaking fifty one years. She will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Merrell Sellers of Church Point; sons, Alfred Straton of Youngsville; Todd Sellers of Montana; William Sellers of Church Point; Merrell Sellers, Jr. of Colorado; and Troy Sellers of Montana; daughter, Wendy Sellers of Idaho; two brothers, Allen G. Palombo of Broussard; and Alfred "TLou" Paul Palombo, Jr. of Lafayette; three sisters, Diane Palombo Fitch of Broussard; Kathy Palombo Walters of Youngsville; and Shelly Palombo Criddle of Cleveland, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren: Shannon, Austin, Dalton, Michel, Jeffery, TJ, Daniel, Johnathan, Lauren, Lindsey, Atlantis, and Gabriel; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Paul Palombo, Sr. and June Mary Alves Palombo; and her grandparents: General Palombo and Leona Jean David Palombo; and Charles Pete Alves and Adel Maggie Primeaux Alves; and her brother, Charles "Joe Joe" Palombo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
