Grand Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Sandy Lee Richard, age 56, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA. Rite of Committal took place at the church cemetery.

Sandy, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Thursday, September 7, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Family time meant the world to Sandy. She loved the family BBQ's, Crawfish Boils, late night Bouree' games, listening to music and playing board games. She worked in the legal field since graduating high school. Sandy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her parents, Lee Roy and Gerry Stelly Richard, of Arnaudville, LA; her sons, Jarrod Kennison and wife, Dawn Vidrine Kennison, of Carencro, LA; Blake Kennison of Arnaudville, LA; her daughter and best friend, Jaide Perez, of Carencro, LA; her brothers, Kevin Lee Richard (JoAnn), of Arnaudville, LA; Gordon Ray Richard of Arnaudville, LA; her sisters, Lynda (Gene Dupre) of Lafayette, LA; Cheryl Ann Richard of Arnaudville, LA and her Godchild, Jenee' Doucet. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Otto and Anna Celanise Stelly and her paternal grandparents, Alcide and Lucy Richard.
