Sandra Matte

Lawtell - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sandra Faye Matte, age 63, at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. Reverend Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Matte, a resident of Lawtell, LA, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at her residence.

Sandra's favorite pastime was fishing. She also enjoyed flower arranging and making candy for holidays. Her specialty was chocolate covered cherries. Sandra will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard F. Matte, of Lawtell, LA; her brothers, Raymond Savoie of Opelousas, LA; Aaron Savoy of Lawtell, LA; her sisters, Thelma Leger of Opelousas, LA; Mary Andrepont of Port Arthur, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Matte; her parents, Ernest and Alice Venable Savoy and her sisters, Pearl Sebastien, Wilma McDaniel and Roma Lee Blanchard.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
