Samuel Morrow

Melville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Samuel "Token" Morrow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Melville. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Right of committal will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Melville. Father James Nguyen will conduct the Mass.

Token, age 75, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA, surrounded by his loving and caring family.
Token was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister and a notary public. He belonged to the Local 406. Token was a hard worker at Chef Paul's Magic Seasoning. He was a former employee for Dow Chemical with the Hebert Brothers, Montgomery Elevator and Westinghouse Elevator. He did a great job of taking care of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Cemetery. He enjoyed spending time at the camp hunting and fishing. He also liked being outdoors gardening and working in the yard. Token was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. If he wasn't building things he was tinkering with them. Token was an amazing mentor to everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura M. Maddie Morrow of Melville; his daughter, Cynthia "Cinderella" Chaney of Ventress, LA; his sisters, Sara Harvey and husband, Robert of Port Allen, LA, Annie Lee Mose and husband, Alvin of Melville; his two grandchildren, Daniel Chaney and Matthew Poole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Frances Johnny Morrow; and his daughter, Lisa Poole.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at which time the funeral will proceed to church.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Chaney, Matthew Poole, Victor Maddie, Jr., Scott Johnson, David Rabalais and Leonard Riche, Jr.
