Sam Morrow

Krotz Springs – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sam Morrow, age 88, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow in St. John Catholic Church Cemetery in Melville.  Father Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.  A Eulogy and Rosary will be prayed in his honor at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Hammack, John Michael Hammack, Tommy Leger, E.J. Marcotte, Preston Marcotte and Chris Morrow.

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Mr. Sam Morrow on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

Sam was a life-long resident of Krotz Springs and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He attended the Cursillo and other Catholic retreats. His great faith led him to pray his rosary daily for his friends and family. Sam loved his family deeply and always enjoyed spending time with them, especially if it involved taking everyone out to eat. Any time he was with family, he was happy. His beloved wife and children meant so much to him and his grandchildren were his world.

Next to his family, he was most proud of his business, Krotz Springs Exxon, which he founded in 1959. He was a loving husband and father, who was known for being hard working and always provided for his family.

He will forever be remembered and missed by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Leger; his son, Jeff Morrow and his wife, Mona and his daughter, Angela Hammack and her husband, Dan.  He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Samantha Hammack, Daniel (Emily) Hammack, John Michael Hammack and Mia Morrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Josephine Collect Morrow; his son, Michael Morrow; his brothers, Tony Forty and Joseph Morrow and his sister, Sarah Morrow.

The family is grateful for any flower gifts but would also be honored to have a donation made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mr. Morrow’s memory.
