Sadie Cormier

A wake will be held at Lafond- Ardoin Funeral Home for Sadie H. Cormier 90 who passed away peacefully on April 5, 2007 at Doctors Hospital in Opelousas, La. surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

She will be waked in Krotz Springs at Lafond- Ardoin on Sunday April 6, 2007 at 10a.m. - 10p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. She will then be transported to Vincents Funeral Home in Kaplan La. to be waked there on Monday at 2p.m.- 9p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:p.m. Tuesday at 9a.m. burial will be at 1p.m. at Greenes Cemetery buried along side her husband. The Father David Broussard will be the Celebrant with a funeral service held at Vincents Funeral Home in Kaplan. La.

She was a native of Kaplan till the death of her husband Eno Cormier of 59 years. She then moved to Krotz Springs with her son and his family and lived there for 16 years till the time of her death. She made many friends during her stay in Krotz Springs who grew to love and know her only as Grandma.

She retired from Vermillion Parish School .She enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends, and cooking big Sunday dinners. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens birthday parties and all of their road trips to visit with all of her friends.

Sadie was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Kaplan, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Krotz Springs.

She is survived by one son Raywood Calhoun Cormier and his wife Betty of Krotz Springs One daughter Marina Landry of Scott, La., one sister Grace Fontenot and her husband Eddie of Kaplan, five grandchildren: Trisha Ortego and her husband Ronald , Ryan Cormier ,Ashley Cormier and his wife Kim. Lisa Dupuis, and Dena Rabalais and her husband Timmy Ten great-grandchildren Adam, Katelyn, Tyler, and Taylor Ortego, Abigail, Magdalene, Gabriella, and Avery Cormier Callie Dupuis and Blake Rabalais and a lot of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eno Cormier, her parents, Alcide and Anastaze Hargrave, two brothers, Queling and Presley Hargrave.

The Pallbearers are: Ronald and Adam Ortego, Ryan and Ashley Cormier , Rahn C. Broussard Timmy Rabalais, Honorary Pallbearers are Taylor and Tyler Ortego ,and Avery Cormier.
