Ruth Pavy

Funeral services for Ruth Dunbar Pavy will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Louisiana Memorial Methodist Church in Opelousas. The Rev. Stephen N. Fife will conduct the services. The interment will take place at the Mrytle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mrs. Pavy, age 88 a resident of Opelousas, died on Monday June 16, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was CoOwner of Dorothy Dunbars Camera and Bookstore and a member of the Louisiana Memorial Methodist Church. She loved needlepoint, crochet and reading. A special achievement was raising a loving family.

She is survived by her sons Kenneth Pavy and wife Karen of Port Barre, Ted Pavy and wife Liz of Carencro, daughters Becky Pavy Futral of Opelousas, Libby Pavy of Opelousas, Kathy Pavy Holbrook and husband Charles of Lafayette, Dee Pavy LaFleur and husband Wayne of Carencro, Julie Pavy Kewley and husband Steve of Opelousas, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Edward Dud Pavy, parents Harold Ted Dunbar and Myrtle Evans Dunbar, sisters Mildred Dunbar, Dorothy Dunbar and brothers William Dunbar and Edward Dunbar.

The family has requested visitation be held on Tuesday June 17, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and will resume on Wednesday at 10:00am until time of services.

Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons Bill Futral, Michael Pavy, Adam LaFleur, Ben Pavy, Zachary Kewley, Spencer Kewley, Eric Futral, Matthew Pavy, Alex LaFleur and Garrett Pavy.
