Ruth Thomasson Hebert

Funeral services for Ruth Thomasson Hebert will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2008 at 11:00am in the Melville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Melville Methodist Cemetery. Bro. Kenneth Chapman will conduct the services.

Mrs. Hebert, age 94, a resident of Melville, died Saturday December 13, 2008 at Opelousas General Health Systems.

She was a school teacher at Melville Elementary School and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. She belonged to the Melville Womens Club, Order of the Eastern Star, St. Landry and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Associations and was lifelong member of the Melville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brother; William Thomasson and his wife Marlys of Melville, sisters; Jane Westerhaus and her husband Wesley of Melville and Peggy Lafleur of Baton Rouge and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Blaze Hebert, parents; Andrew and Katie Putfark Thomasson, brothers; Joseph Thomasson, Andrew Thomasson and Lud Thomasson and a sister; Sophie Ziegler.

Visitation will be Monday December 15, 2008 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville and will reopen at 8:00am Tuesday.

Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Melville is in charge of the arrangements.
