Ruby Ansley

June 6, 1921 — September 26, 2016

Funeral services will be held for Ruby Anderson Ansley, age 95, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the First Pentecostal Church in Melville, LA. Reverend Samm Hamm will conduct the service. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held in the First Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ansley, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Monday, September 26, 2016, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA.

Ruby was a homemaker who loved to read Louis Lamar and Christian oriented literature. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a seamstress for herself and her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Carlton L. Jr. and Lucille Ansley, of New Caney, TX; Richard S. and Caroline Ansley, of Melville, LA and Kenneth R. Ansley and Wendy Martin, of Melville, LA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Corlis Faye and John LaBauve, Arlen Ray and Bonnie Ansley, Randall and Brenda Ansley, Jason and Shae Ansley; Greg and Crystal Ansley; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Jessica Renee Bailey, Heather Danette Baggett, Gregory Russell LaBauve, Tasha Nicole Bradshaw, Arlen Ray Ansley, Jr., Kayla Raelynn Ansley, Landon P. Ansley, Brett Ansley, Eathan Z. Stelly, Zoey B. Ansley, Kendal M. Ansley, Morgan R. Sullivan, Kaleb M. Holubar, Layden D. Ortega, Devin C. Ansley, Randy K. Ansely, Mackinzie A. Ansley, Janna L. Ansley, Christopher W. Harvey, Malinda L. Harvey, Mia I. Harvey, Caden E. Ansley and fifteen great-great grandchildren, Bradyn Bailey, Jesse James Bailey, Declan Bailey, Abby Bailey, Courtney Baggett, Nicholis Baggett, Bradley Baggett, Alex Bradshaw, Emma Bradshaw, Rylee Ray, Kaleb Ansley, Alaina Ansley, Kailynn Ansley, Adian Ansley and Kari M. Ansley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Lester Ansley, Sr.; her parents, Charlie and Annie Johnson Anderson, her brothers, Eric Anderson, William "Bill" Anderson, Charles "Boots" Anderson and his sisters, Dessie Circello, Annie Circello, Ruth Jordan, Martha Reist and Bun Anderson.
