Roy Joseph Reed

Krotz Springs - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Roy Joseph Reed at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs.  Reverend Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Friday, July 26, 2019, from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

Mr. Reed, age 87, a resident of Krotz Springs, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his residence.

Roy honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  He participated in making rosaries to send overseas to Venezuela, Brazil and many other countries in South America.  He enjoyed bee keeping, hunting, fishing and gardening.  Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Reva Ann Cronier Reed; his sons, Bryan B. Reed (Michelle); Mark J. Reed (Claire); Richard B. Reed (Tara); Brady A. Reed; Jason R. Reed (Lisa); Vincent P. Reed; his daughters, Katherine Reed Eason (David); Mary Grace Reed Frey (Steve); his sister, Gloria Reed Jones and his sister-in-law, Juanita Reed.  He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Vickie, Stephanie, Jared, Abby, Philip, Jacelin, Lucas, Lorcan, Lakota, Layton, Reva Maurie and eight great-grandchildren, Victoria, Ethan, Creed, Jackson, Zachary, William, Parker and Chaz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dores and Angelina Wiltz Reed; his brother, Eric Joseph Reed; his sister, Grace Reed Moran; his brothers-in-law, Louis Moran and Dick Jones and his grandsons, Landon T. Reed and Ryan A. Reed.

Pallbearers will Bryan B. Reed, Mark J. Reed, Richard B. Reed, Vincent P. Reed, Jason R. Reed and Hervey Moran.  Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Frey and David Eason.
