Rosemarie Hannelore Margot Arlt Courville

Rosemarie Hannelore Margot Arlt Courville, age 88, was born on November 15, 1936, in Berlin, Germany, and she peacefully passed away on December 19, 2024, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Opelousas. Rosemarie's journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith, deep family love, and genuine connections with all who had the privilege to know her.

Funeral services for Rosemarie Hannelore Margot Arlt Courville will be held at the Grace Community Lighthouse Baptist Church in Krotz Springs on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Rocky Warden will conduct the service with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs, La.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Grace Community Lighthouse Baptist Church, located at 9193 Highway 105, Krotz Springs, LA 70750. The church will reopen on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. 

Pallbearers will be Matthew Courville, Jordan Courville, Billy Homan, Hunter Homan and Dwayne Fontenot.

For several years, Rosemarie worked at various businesses in Krotz Springs, where she became a cherished member of the community. Her commitment to her work was complemented by her profound love for Jesus, her church, and her “church” family at Grace Community Lighthouse Baptist Church. This faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Rosemarie had a remarkable ability to make friendships and met countless individuals throughout her life. She was a woman of class and grace, consistently radiating beauty both inside and out, even in the simplest of moments, such as cutting her grass. Her sparkling personality drew people in, with a sense of warmth and was always felt by those fortunate enough to cross her path.

Among her many joys, Rosemarie cherished traveling, shopping, and most importantly, spending time with her family and grandbabies. These moments were invaluable to her, as she fostered love and connection across generations.

She leaves behind a loving family who will remember her fondly: her son, Michael Courville, of Krotz Springs, La.; her daughter, Monika Harper and husband, Felton, of Krotz Springs, La.; her sister, Brunhilde Totzke, of Berlin, Germany; her grandchildren, Jessika Homan, Jordan Courville, Paige Ashkeboussi, Matthew Courville, and Elizabeth Fontenot; as well as her twelve great-grandchildren.

Rosemarie is preceded in death by her husband, James Courville; her parents, Karl and Elie Arlt; and her brother, Horst Neuman. Her legacy of love, faith, and connection will forever be a source of strength for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
