Ronald Guidroz

Opelousas Funeral services for Ronald R.J. Guidroz, affectionately known as Poppy, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Rite of Committal will be in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the funeral service.

Ronald Joseph Guidroz, age 76, was a native of Leonville, LA and a resident of Opelousas, LA. He died on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Senior Village Nursing Home.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked hard all of his life in the oilfield as a tool pusher. When he wasnt working, he loved fishing, gardening, dancing and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Brian Guidroz and wife Lydia of Opelousas daughters, Sheila G. Fontenot and husband Keith of Lafayette, Monica G. Quebedeaux and husband Jeff of Lafayette brothers, Earl Guidroz, Sr. of New Orleans, Kenneth Guidroz of Baton Rouge, and Butch Guidroz of Lafayette sisters, Mildred Benoit of Opelousas, Gloria Totaro and husband Pete of Lafayette 8 grandchildren, Jean Quebedeaux, Emilee Kartchner, Darian Quebedeaux, Jacque Quebedeaux, Jonah Quebedeaux, Everett Fontenot, Corey Fontenot and Olivia Fontenot 3 great grandchildren, Carson Quebedeaux, Rhyleigh Quebedeaux and Avery Kartchner exwife, Anna Guidroz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Bertha Marie Zerangue Guidroz brothers, Jimmy and L.J. Guidroz sisters, Jane Andrus and Marie Guidroz Cortez.

Pallbearers will be Everett Fontenot, Corey Fontenot, Jean Quebedeaux, Jacque Quebedeaux, Logan Kartchner and Jacob Thibodeaux.

Visitation will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m and will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
