Roma Vidrine

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Roma Jean OPry Vidrine, age 75, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Mrs. Vidrine, who was a native of Church Point and former resident of Opelousas, died at her sons residence in Lafayette on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 9:30 a.m.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Vidrine of Prairie Ronde and Todd Vidrine and Cindy Stelly of Carencro; a brother, Joseph Matte of Opelousas; 5 grandchildren, Trey Vidrine, Kristina Lynn Vidrine, Nicholas Gerard Vidrine, Todd Anthony Vidrine, Jr. and Heather Brooke Vidrine and one great grandchild, Cloe Michelle Gautreaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burke Vidrine; daughter, Debra Lynn Vidrine; her parents, Rufus and Hilda Fruge OPry; her brothers, James OPry and Daniel Howe.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009.
