Opelousas-Funeral services for Roland Louis LeBlanc, age 75, will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mr. LeBlanc, who was a native of Washington and resident of Opelousas, died on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Maison de Ville Nursing Home in Opelousas.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Roland was an avid gardener who loved being in his yard planting and growing flowers and vegetables. He will be missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by four sons, Billy Joe LeBlanc and wife Penny Gaily of Galliano, LA, Ronald James LeBlanc and wife Laurie of Cut Off, LA, David Dean LeBlanc and wife Mary of Lafayette, LA, and Michael Troy LeBlanc and wife Marsha of Galliano, LA; a daughter, Darlene Faye of Breaux Bridge; a step- daughter, Jennifer Dupre and husband Michael of Washington; a sister, Ruth Billeaudeaux and husband Sonny of Lafayette, LA; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce LeBlanc; parents Louis Oscar LeBlanc and Evena Guillory LeBlanc; a brother, Kirby LeBlanc and two sisters, Mildred Hollier and Flo Bertrand.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
