Rogers "Red" Aucoin

Opelousas-Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 for Roger "Red" Aucoin in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Parlor in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Red Aucoin, age 67 and a resident of Prairie Ronde, passed away on Saturday, June 08, 2019, at his residence.

Red started working in the oilfield at the young age of 17 until his retirement in 2016. He was a die-hard Saints football fan. Red loved going to the casino, taking care of his kids and spending time with his loved ones. He was truly a "family man" and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Connie A. Aucoin; sons, Mitchell Aucoin of Lafayette, Shaun Aucoin (Brandie) of Eunice, Cody Lee Aucoin of Opelousas, Christopher Stelly (Vanessa), Ethan Kyle Aucoin and Hayden Rogers Aucoin; daughters, Tonya Stelly (Bill), Billie Jo Stelly (Eddie) and Alexis Dempsey; brother, Harold Aucoin; sisters, Betty McLearen, Juanita Aymond, Patsy Hebert; grandchildren, Damian Aucoin, Mason Aucoin, Dustin Fontenot, Vivian Aucoin, Leslie Fontenot and Miah Stelly; mother of his children, Debra Dupre; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Aucoin and Amy Castille Aucoin; and brothers, Charles Aucoin and Roscoe Aucoin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 5:00- 10:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Visiting will continueon Monday at 7:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Aucoin, Shaun Aucoin, Cody Aucoin, Christopher Stelly, Ethan Aucoin and Dustin Fontenot.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nuoi Le and Damian Aucoin.
