Robert Ramoin

Funeral services for Robert Charles Ramoin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Church Point, LA. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Ramoin, age 60, who was a former resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at his residence in Scott, LA.

Robert was an Opelousas High School graduate, where he played football for the Tigers. As a young man, Robert loved racing dirt bikes. He worked in the oilfield for many years and loved to play pool and read his bible daily. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Matte Carriere of Opelousas daughter, Monique Fontenot of Opelousas, LA brothers, Anthony Ramoin, Jr. of Lafayette, LA and Bruce Ramoin and his wife, Kayla of Opelousas, LA grandchildren, Evan Fontenot, Grant Fontenot, and Finley Tomlinson and his aunt, Judith Dederick and husband Jerry.

He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony Ramoin, Sr. paternal grandparents, Leo and Elodie Ramoin maternal grandparents, Wallace and Callie Godeau Matt and his Godfather, Herbert Matt.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until service time.
