Robert Earl McBride

Opelousas - Robert McBride, age 96, passed away on May 8, 2024, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home. He was born on February 9, 1928, in Opelousas Louisiana.

A visitation to honor Robert's life will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM followed by a Catholic Service in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.   A burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. 

The pallbearers will be David Vidrine, Michael Falcon, Walter McBride, Gabriel McBride, Will Ellis and Jason Walter.

Robert was a man of many passions and interests. He loved all kinds of sports, enjoyed traveling and cherished the moments he spent having coffee at The Palace Café.  He also found joy in playing cards, especially, "Bourré".

He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Robert is survived by his sons, David Vidrine and his wife, Cassie; Michael Falcon, Walter Duncan McBride and his wife, Angie; his daughters, Elizabeth McBride Walter and her husband, Jason and April McBride Ellis and her husband, Will; the mother of his children, Bernadine Nelams; along with 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Robert McBride is preceded in death by his parents, Didier McBride and Maguerite Leake McBride; his sisters, Margaret McBride and Hilda Penn; as well as his daughter-in-law, Dana Falcon "Mike’s wife".

Robert will forever be remembered for his kind heart, vibrant spirit, and dedication to his family. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved.
