Robert Ellis

Funeral services for Robert Charles Ellis, Known to many as "Joe," age 65, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017, in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery of Krotz Springs. Rev. Chad Bolfa will officiate the services.

Mr. Joe was a longtime resident of Krotz Springs. He died on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was an avid LSU fan and especially enjoyed their mascot, Mike the Tiger. He enjoyed counting the train cars while they passed, watching the Price is Right television game shows, and listening to the music while the family played the guitar, drums, and accordion. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by one brother, Michael Ellis and wife, April of Olla; six sisters: Norma Jean Credeur of Krotz Springs; Elizabeth Huffman and husband, Donnie of Jonesville; Charlotte "Susie" Palazotto of Lake Charles; Shirley Dupont and husband, Ronald of Krotz Springs; Debra Evans and husband, James of Krotz Springs; and Sally Stelly and husband, Olin of Krotz Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Earl Ellis and Ethel Marie Dupuis Ellis; stepmother, Alma Ellis; and one brother, Eddie Ellis.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until midnight in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs.. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Chris Huffman, Bobby St. Romain, Shawn Ellis, Chad Nall, Steven Dupont, Justin Kidder, and Robbie Wiley.
