Robert Chachere

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Robert Armand Bob Chachere at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. His nephew, Reverend Paul McCormick, and Monsignor Keith DeRouen will concelebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Chachere, age 73, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at his residence.

Bob owned and operated Bob Chachere AC, Inc. for 21 years. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church where served as an usher. He was a 4th Degree Knight belonging to the Most Reverend Jules B. Jeanmard Assembly 326, a Grand Knight and Knight of the Year for Council 11270. He was a member of the Opelousas Elks Lodge 1048. He also enjoyed church work, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family. Bob will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Carol Franchebois Chachere, of Opelousas, LA his son, Robert Armand Chachere, Jr. and wife, Shona, of Katy, TX and their children, Alex and wife, Jade Cody, Sean, Kevin, Brooke, Morgan, Brandon, Megan, Grace and greatgrandchildren, Briley, Leila and Autumn and his son, Steven James Chachere and wife, Missy, of Opelousas, LA and their children, Amber and Matthew. He is also survived by his brothers, Lemoine Veilliend Rip Chachere, Jr. of Opelousas, LA and Tim Chachere of Dove Canyon, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemoine Veilliend and Viola Lafleur Chachere his brother, Tom Chachere and his grandparents, Lemoine and Belle Chachere and Dr. Armand and Ophelia Lafleur.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, July 18, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed on Friday at 7:00 p.m. An Elks Service and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Service will be held prior to the rosary.

Pallbearers will be Rip Chachere, Tim Chachere, Alex Chachere, Cody Chachere, Sean Chachere, Matt Pontiff, Kevin Chachere and Greg Chachere. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow members of the K of C Council 11270, fellow members of the Our Lady Queen of Angels Ushers and special friends including: Derek Faust, Verbis Lafleur, Randy Brasseux, Hurshel Leger, Cleve Trahan, Edwin Hollier, George Broussard, Butch Barron, Bubsy Caillouet, Gary Wiliford, Torrey Andrepont and Brett Meche.
