Robert, aged 71, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
Robert was born in New Iberia, LA and later moved to Opelousas at an early age and always loved to tell stories of his boyhood in Indian Hills. He graduated from the Academy of the Immaculate Conception (now Opelousas Catholic) in 1962. He was a proud lifelong south Louisiana resident. He listened to Fats Domino, never really met a stranger, always had a joke or story to share, and loved to fish, hunt and spend time outdoors. Robert was a man of faith and worked hard for his family.
Bob is survived by his sister, Carlene Carlson Moragas of Miami, Florida, his niece Connie Rodriguez, her husband Ernie Rodriguez, and their children Katie and AJ. He is also survived by his daughters, Shala Carlene Carlson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kristi Carlson Wharton and her husband, Brian, and their daughter Abbi of Spring, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Samuel and Cecile Bourriague Carlson, and his wife of 46 years, Patricia Bennett Carlson.
