OpelousasFuneral services for Richard E. Savage will be held on Friday April 16, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Monsignor Robert Romero will conduct the services.
Mr. Savage, age 58, a resident of Port Barre died April 12, 2010. He worked as a supervisor for Boh Brothers Construction Company. He had many passions one of which was gardening, in particular sago palms. He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family, listening to KBON radio, and vacationing at the beach.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Meche Savage, of Port Barre sons, Brad Paul Savage and wife, Lindsey, of Port Barre and John Coby Savage of Port Barre daughter, Christal Jeanne Savage and fianc, Scott Quebedeaux, of Port Barre brother, Dan Harold Savage of Georgia sister, Karen Faye Smith of Prairieville and grandchildren, Brayden Cole Savage and Ellie Brooke Savage and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Great is our loss, yet Christ appears, to comfort and to wipe our tears.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James P. Savage and parents Otis H. Sambo Savage and Shirley Goudeau Savage.
Visitation will be on Thursday April 15, 2010 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the Boh Brothers Construction family for their loyalty throughout his years of service.
