Richard Kolder, Jr.

Lawtell - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Richard Kolder, Jr., age 84, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at the church cemetery in Lawtell, LA. Reverend Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Kolder, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on July 23, 2015, at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Home.

Richard was a grocery salesman for St. Landry Wholesale for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors in his spare time. Richard will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ella Mae Comeaux Kolder, of Lafayette, LA; his son, C. Burton Kolder and wife, Brenda Darbonne Kolder, of Lafayette, LA; his daughter, Vickie Kolder Nezat and husband, Steve Nezat, of Broussard, LA; his sisters, Norma Kolder Joubert and Barbara Kolder Doucet. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brad Kolder, Eric Kolder, Laurie Kolder McCormic and two great-grandchildren, Noah McCormic and Madeline McCormic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Kolder, Sr. and Lula Boudreaux Kolder and his brothers, Aaron Kolder, Alban Kolder and Leroy Kolder.
Pallbearers will be Brad Kolder, Eric Kolder, Roy Kolder, Wayne Bourque, Steve Nezat and Bryan Joubert.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
