Melville - A memorial service will be held for Reverend Gerry Phelps, age 84, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, in the United Methodist Church in Melville, LA, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Reverend John Cannon and Ed Boyd will conduct the service.

Reverend Phelps, a resident of Melville, LA, died on Friday, February 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving and caring family.

She is survived by her son Scott Houston Phelps and wife Joan; her sister, Waynel Derrick and partner, Robbie Robinson; her grandchildren, David Austin Phelps and girlfriend, Lia Marshall, Suzie Pitre and husband, Marty, Robby Andrepont, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Declan and Teagan Pitre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Phelps and LeNoir Russell.
