Reme Joubert

Opelousas A Funeral Service will be held for Reme Ram Joseph Joubert, age 89, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Burial will follow in the St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery with Reverend Paul Bienvenu as the celebrant.

Mr. Joubert, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Monday, October 22, 2012, at his residence.

Reme served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Thelma H. Joubert of Opelousas, La. his daughters, Shirley J. Dohmann and husband, Leland, of Lewisburg, La. Ethel Hecard and companion, Jerry Falcone, of New Orleans, La. Alice Verrette and companion, Raymond Cormier, of Lewisburg, La. his sister, Mildred Smith Rice, of Baker, La. and eight grandchildren, Blair Verrette, Angela Raines, Tammy Cole, Raymond Dohmann, Kristie Boudreaux, Wade Dohmann, Cherisse Dohmann and Kelly Cookmeyer and nine greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Toy Joubert and Anais Fontenot Joubert his son, Raymond Joubert, his brother, Herbert Joubert, his sisters, Nita Provost, Melissa Teese Anslem, Evelyn Morris, Ethel Mae Joubert and his greatgranddaughter, Courtney Cookmeyer.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until funeral time. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
