Reba Orgeron

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 for Reba Jennings Orgeron, age 91, at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery. Deacon Sammy Diesi will officiate the religious service.

Reba was born on June 10, 1924 in Marthaville, LA to Gladys Ainsworth and L.R. Jennings. She passed away the morning of November 28, 2015 at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette, LA.

Reba will be remembered as a kind, loving soul and quite a fun loving "character". She was employed straight out of high school at Service Drug Store for many years and then she went to work at Food Town Pharmacy and eventually Bellevue Animal Hospital. In between her work, she always had time to help as Room Mother for her daughter's class at Market Street Elementary. She was also an avid reader and animal lover.

She leaves footprints on the hearts of her daughter, Bobbie Lynn Dunbar and her husband, Bill; a granddaughter, Jaime Dawn Dunbar and her fiance', Nick Thibodeaux, all of Lafayette, LA; two brothers, Bobby E. Jennings of San Antonio, TX and Ron G. Fisher and wife Karin of St. Martinville, LA; two sisters, Gloria Goldsby and Omega Welch, both of Shreveort, LA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen J. Orgeron; her parents, Gladys A. Fisher and Lawrence R. Jennings; two brothers, A.W. Jennings and Jeb Jennings.

The family requests visiting to be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 3:00- 8:00 p.m. and to reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until service time.
