Raymond Savoie

Opelousas - Funeral Services will be held for Raymond "Ray" Savoie at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the services.

Ray, age 68, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on January 16, 2016, at Senior Village surrounded by his loving and caring family.

Ray was an insurance agent with Farm Bureau for six years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sylvia Savoie of Opelousas, LA; his daughter Lisa Landry and husband, Merl of Lafayette, LA; his step-sons, Joseph Kenneth Jaubert, Jr. and wife, Tiny of Lafayette, LA, Paul Ray Jaubert and wife, Laurie of Opelousas, LA, Charles Anthony Jaubert and wife, Mandy of Broussard, LA; his brother, Aaron Savoy and wife, Kathy of Lawtell, LA; his sisters, Thelma Leger of Opelousas, LA, Maryann Andrepont and husband, Wayne of Beaumont, TX; his grandson, Joshua Landry and wife, Morgen of Lafayette, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Savoy and Alice Venable Savoy; his son, Anthony Troy Savoie; his sisters, Sandra Matte, Roma Lee Blanchard, Wilma McDaniel and Pearl Sebastien.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Dwayne Joubert. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
