Raymond Rivette

Opelousas Services for Raymond J. Rivette, age 71, will be held in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Rev. Chad Bolfa will conduct the service.

Mr. Rivette who was a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Rivette served in the United States Navy and then in the United States Air Force Reserve, where he served until retirement. He then retired from the Department of Defense for Defense Contract Auditing Service where he served as a Quality Control Inspector, inspecting the external fuel tanks for the Space Shuttle.

Survivors include his wife, Connie V. Rivette of Opelousas, LA his daughters, Simone Washington, Denise Ball and husband, Michael, of Metairie, LA his sisters, Emma Lou Luke of Baton Rouge, LA Anne Kragle of Metairie, LA Antoinette Hebert of Church Point, LA and one grandchild, Aiden Ball.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theophile and Sylvene Rivette and his brothers, Dennis Rivette, Thomas Rivette and Adam Rivette.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
