Raymond Donald Evans, born on October 6, 1939, peacefully passed away on September 25, 2023. Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ray lived a fulfilling life and had a deep appreciation for nature. His hobbies included deer and squirrel hunting, fishing, and camping. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to connect with the world around him. Raymond's passion for the great outdoors was contagious, and he often shared his knowledge and experiences with those around him.
Ray had a loving and devoted family of his own. He was married to Bonnie Evans, his cherished wife of 43 years. In addition to his beloved wife Bonnie, Raymond leaves behind a legacy through his children: Michael Scott Evans and his wife, Donna, Kelly Evans and his wife, Pamela, and Stacey Maximo and her husband Douglas, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Ray Evans will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted and genuine soul. He possessed an unwavering love for his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to live on through them. Ray's noble character, adventurous spirit, and love for nature remind us to appreciate the beauty in everyday life.
The Evans family will receive guests at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on October 4, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00a.m. Rev. Sherman Soileau will officiate the services. Inurnment will follow the services in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
