Raphael Prudhomme

Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial for Raphael James Prudhomme, age 78, will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Leo Catholic Church of Leonville, La., followed by interment in the church mausoleum. The Reverend Ken Domingue will be the celebrant of the mass.

Mr. Prudhomme, a native of Wheatfield, La. and resident of Port Barre, La., passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Fordoche, La.

Raphael was a farmer and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and cooking for his friends and family. The Prudhomme family would like to thank the Ray and Nolan Hebert families for always being there for Raphael.

He is survived by his sons, Dale Prudhomme and his wife, Christine, of Opelousas, La. Brent Prudhomme and his wife, Connie, of Port Barre, La. his daughters, Sue Prudhomme Lanclos and husband, Mike, of Baton Rouge, La. Cara Prudhomme Boagni of Missouri his sisters, Dora Mae Stanford of Basile, La. Dolores Meche, Vivian Faul and Olivia Labbe all of Opelousas, La. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Eric Prudhomme and wife, Emily, of Prairieville, La. Nicholas Prudhomme and wife, Erin, of Baton Rouge, La. Rebekah Prudhomme of Baton Rouge, La. Amy Marks of Lafayette, La. Patrice Prudhomme of Port Barre, La. Corey Lanclos of Baton Rouge, La. Erin Lanclos of Baton Rouge, La. Heather Boagni Wells of Panama City, Florida Brian Vidrine of New Orleans, La. and 5 greatgrandchildren: Evan and Emma Prudhomme, Adia Prudhomme, Victoria Marks and Colin Lanclos.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Norma Jean Lalonde Prudhomme his parents, Lesley and Ammetilde Doucet Prudhomme his son, Keith Prudhomme and his brothers, L.G., John, Wilfred and Warren Prudhomme.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
