Randy Hooks

Krotz Springs Funeral services will be held for Randy Eugene Hooks at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.

Mr. Hooks, age 67, a resident of Krotz Springs, LA, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his residence.

Randy enjoyed the great outdoors. He was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed crawfishing, frogging, boat racing, watching westerns and wrestling. Randy always was the jokester trying to make everyone laugh whether it was telling a joke or pulling a prank. There was never a dull moment. Randy was a welder by trade and he could fix anything with a welding machine and rod. Randy was a past Master of Lodge with the Krotz Springs Masonic Lodge 434. He knew that his battle with cancer would come to an end and he would rejoice in the presence of the Lord, which kept his faith strong. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Annisa Ellis and husband, Scotty, of Melville, LA Natache Gay Reeves and husband, Joseph, of Grapevine, TX Raneill Camarata Cortez of Krotz Springs, LA his sisters, Ida Fay Hatfield of Irvington, AL Judith Elaine Polotzola and husband, Mike, of Melville, LA and Roma Gayle OBrien and husband, Danny, of Krotz Springs, LA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Phillip M. Ellis and wife, Meghan Jacob M. Reeves, Lane J. Reeves, Whittney K. Trahan and husband, Brent and Linsey C. Cortez. He was also survived by two greatgrandchildren, Gracie E. Trahan and Peyton K. Cortez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Hooks, a native of Krotz Springs and Dorothy Mae Matthews Hooks, who was a native of Kankakee, Illinois and a resident of Krotz Springs, LA and his brotherinlaw, Lee Hatfield.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cabral, Phillip Ellis, Walter Peck, Neil Hooks, Kelly Hooks, Lonnie Williams, Travis Gerace and Gene Gerace. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Conway, Shane Peck and Norman Mouille.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
