Purvis M. Wiggins

Krotz Springs - Funeral services will be held for Purvis Marvel Wiggins at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs.  Brother Allen Myers will conduct the service.  Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Wiggins, age 95, a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his residence.

Purvis honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII.  He enjoyed being outdoors gardening, beekeeping and fishing.  In his spare time, he loved traveling.  Purvis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria W. Chautin of Zwolle, LA, Janice W. Turner of Krotz Springs, LA; seven grandchildren, Christopher Chautin of Zwolle, LA, Chadrick Chautin of Opelousas, LA, Cherie Chautin Reynolds of Cannington, Ontario, Dustin Chautin, Patrick Turner of Krotz Springs, LA, Douglas Turner of Krotz Springs, LA, Christopher Wiggins of Lafayette and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Bertha Adams Wiggins, Erble Paul Wiggins; his parents, Robert and Blanche Wiggins; his daughter, Mickey Wiggins; his son, David Wiggins and numerous brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 PM.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Chautin, Chadrick Chautin, Dustin Chautin, Patrick Turner and Douglas Turner.
