Funeral services for Peter J. Mayeux will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00PM at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas with the interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.
Peter, age 40, a native of Opelousas and was a resident of Beaumont Texas for 20 years, died on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 6:42PM at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper TX., due to a motor cycle accident. He graduated from Opelousas High School, T.H. Harris and Lamar University in Texas. Peter worked for C.B.I., an engineering firm as a CAD operator in Beaumont TX.
He was loved by everyone he met and was a joy to his family. He loved God and his church and all of his friends.
He is survived by his present wife; Megan Cryer and his son Matthew Parker, both of Wildwood TX., his parents; Terry and Nell Chauffe Mayeux of Opelousas and his grandmother; Lilly G. Mayeux of Reddell, LA, and his first wife; Sandy Quebedeaux, his brothers; Phillip Mayeux and his wife Debbie of Kountze TX., Paul Mayeux and his wife Ruby of Orange TX., Patrick Mayeux of Boston MA. and Eric Mayeux and his wife Rachel of Lafayette LA., his sisters; Carmen McFaul and her husband Keith of Oak Harbor WA. and Marie Cook and her husband Clint of Dallas TX. Peter is also survived by 15 nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son; Andrew Philip Mayeux and his grandparents; Earl and Carmen Chauffe and grandfather; J.J. Mayeux and nephew; Michael Mayeux.
The family has requested that visitation be observed on Monday from 5:00PM to 10:00PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00PM on Monday.
