Percy John Wyble

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Percy John Wyble at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.  The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Percy John Wyble, age 81, announces his passing on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

Percy worked as a manual machinist for 40 years.  He was an avid reader.  He loved science fiction, astronomy and sports of all kind.  Percy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his companion, Ms. Penny; his sons, Paul Wyble, Craig Wyble and Greg Wyble; and his daughter, Cathy Vidrine.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Nicholas McGee (Kim), Christina Richardson (Chad), Judy Wyble (David), Chelsey Calvin (Kasey), Jessica Corona (Joe), Corey Vidrine (Brandi), Ryan Wyble, Maegan Corona (Chad), Scott Vidrine and Heather Loughridge (Casey); nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Wyble; his daughter, Angela Marie Corona; his parents, Jessie and Edmonia Credeur Wyble; his siblings, Dorothy Majors, Wallace Wyble and Joyce Rome; and his great-grandson, Beaux Silas McGee.

The family will receive visitors between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM by Deacon Bill Pollingue.  The funeral home will reopen on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Chad Richardson, Nicholas McGee, Danny Wyble, Dale Carriere, Corey Vidrine and Francis Vidrine.
