Opelousas – Funeral services for Pearlie Mae Carroll will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 14, 2022, at the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas. Pastor Christina Hardy will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. The funeral home will reopen on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pearlie Mae Carroll, age, 96, who passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Pearlie worked as the head bookkeeper for Diesi Automotive for over 30 years. She also worked as the bookkeeper for the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas. She was the past president and treasurer for the American Business Women’s Association and was very honored to be voted Woman of the Year. Pearlie loved being outdoors, fishing and just enjoying nature. She loved watching her many bird feeders, working in her yard, and taking care of African Violets. She enjoyed traveling and was very lucky to have visited many places throughout her life. Pearlie loved her family and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, M. Susan Robinson and husband, Richard Jenkins and Jeanette Kiffer and husband, James; her sons, Dee Barney Ford and wife, Elizabeth Anne and Kirk Gilman Ford, III; her step-children, Johnny Carroll and his wife, Mel and Al Carroll. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Michelle Gaudin, Benjamin Robinson, Dru Wyble and his wife, Juliette, Kelly Higginbotham and her husband, Brad, Angela Ford, Leslie Ford, Peter Ford, and his wife, Adriane, Laura Sena and her husband, Chris and Helen Lavie, and her husband, Steven; three step-grandchildren, Scott Carroll, Heather Carroll, Sarah Guidry and Jonathan Carroll and his wife, Katie; her fifteen great-grandchildren, Benjamin Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Maddison Robinson, Hayden Wyble, Travis Wyble, Ian Higginbotham, Brendan Higginbotham, Jack Higginbotham, Hunter Eggeman, Jake Edwards, Ezra Ford, Abram Ford, Judah Ford, Louis Sena, Joseph Lavie and one great-grandchild on the way; and her 5 step great-grandchildren, Alyssa Guidry, Evan Guidry, Isaac Guidry, Taylor Carroll and William Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Carroll; her parents, Theodore Joseph Leleu and Lily Frances Bertrand and her sister, Margaret Franklin.
