Paul "Fuzz" Tankersley

It is with deep sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Paul “Fuzz” Jerone Tankersley on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the age of 61, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Opelousas- Funeral services will be held for Paul “Fuzz” Jerone Tankersley, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Reverend Fr. Gregory Simien will conduct the service.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Paul served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He worked for Stelly Construction for many years.  Paul enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.  He was a great cook and was avid hunter.  You could find Paul in the woods hunting or camping.  He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Mostly, Paul will be remembered for being a kind soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He will forever be remembered and missed by his wife of 36 years, Katrena Tankersley, of Prairie Ronde, La.; his son, Brandon Tankersley and wife, Macie, of Prairie Ronde, La.; his daughter, Kortney Tankersley and spouse, Lyle Roberie, of Grand Prairie, La.; his brothers, Keith Tankersley of Hartselle, AL, Mark Tankersley and wife, Patty, of Moulton, AL, and Quinn Tankersley and wife, Sharon, of Indiana and his sisters, Sheronia Morrow and husband, John, of Hartselle, AL and Kaye Evans of Tickfaw, La.  He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Talan Fontenot, Dawson Roberie, Baylee Tankersley, Landry Roberie and Brayson Tankersley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Tankersley and Hazel Nicholson Tankersley; his maternal grandparents, Clarance Nicholson and Agnes Nicholson and his paternal grandparents, John Tankersley and Myrtle Oden Tankersley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. by Deacon Tom Lindsey.  Visitation will continue Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

Pallbearers will Anthony Morrow, Bubba Morrow, Patrick Morrow, Luke Oestriecher, Brandon Tankersley and Lyle Roberie.  Honorary pallbearers will be Talan Fontenot and Cameron Durio.
