Paul Stelly

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Paul Emile Stelly on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will Celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Mr. Stelly, age 75, who was a native and resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at his residence.

Paul worked and retired from Service Builders after more than 35 years. He loved gardening and helping his neighbors cut their yards. Paul loved to watch a good horse race and listening to Cajun French music. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lee Lanclos Stelly of Opelousa son, Paul Glenn Stelly and wife Connie of Opelousas daughters, Janice Marie Hebert and husband Ricky of Opelousas, Donna Savant and husband Lyle of Baton Rouge stepdaughters, Cathy Courville of Opelousas, Annette Courville, Cheryl Thibodeaux and husband D.J. of Sunset brother, Raymond Stelly and wife Linda of Opelousas sisters, Elsie Deville of Opelousas and Annie Tate of Grand Coteau 8 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Stelly, Sr. and Clemence Richard Stelly brothers, Bobby, Darnville, David, Simon and Lionel Stelly, Jr and a sister, Laura Fontenot.

Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 2:00 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. A rosary will be held on Monday evening.
