In lieu of a formal service, a private graveside service will be held for Paul "P.R." Rodney Krantz at St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs at a later date.
Paul was born on November 10, 1926 and passed away at the age of 94 on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, after a long illness.
Mr. Krantz was a businessman, machinist and landowner. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy in the Philippines in the Pacific Theater. He was a lifelong resident of Krotz Springs and spent the later years on his beloved land on the Atchafalaya River. He always feigned his love for the land, his work and his family. He loved working on his equipment and designing tools. Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucy Krantz; his three children, R.W. Krantz and his wife, Kim, Brenda Murphy and her husband, Conrad and Christy Krantz all of Krotz Springs; his brother, Albert Krantz of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Amelia Doughtery of Houston, Texas; his one granddaughter, Randi Lace Edwards and her husband, Mark of Lafayette; two great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Amelia Claire Edwards and a wide array of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezime "Bess" Krantz and Lucille Ducote Krantz; his sisters, Eula Andrus and Marie "Goldie" Krantz and one brother, James Wilson Krantz.
The family would like to thank the support from Opelousas General Health System staff and most of all, Hospice of Acadiana for the care they gave Paul.
