A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Anthony Leger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 9, 2019 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. The Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will follow in the church cemetery.
Paul died on November 6, 2019, just one day before his 60th birthday while he, his brother and great nephew were at their camp preparing for the deer hunting season.
Paul worked as a mechanic but in his spare time, he loved fishing and hunting deer and rabbit. He found great joy attending baseball games with his grandchildren and spending time with his daughters, brothers and sisters. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Haley Leger and husband Jason, Brandi Leger and Samantha Daigle and husband Neil; brothers, Charles Leger, Lionel Leger, Wilbert "Blue" Leger, and Eldon "Donnie" Leger; sisters, Rita Arnaud, Geraldine Venable, and Brenda Henry; grandchildren, Treylon Reed, Jaci Deville, Cole Daigle, Ava Daigle, Emma Daigle, Aadyn Leger, and Aubree Daigle. He is also survived by his special companion, Shelia Miller Leger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Eva Darbonne Leger and his grandsons, Jaylon Reed and Blaze Doga.
Pallbearers will be Neil Daigle, Treylon Reed, Jason Hebert, Eldon "Donnie" Leger, Wilbert Leger, Jr. and Fred Aljamal.
The family will receive guests at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2:00 pm until funeral time on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. by the Reverend Austin Leger.
