Patricia Woodson

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Patricia Ann Woodson, age 77, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Gary Schexnayder will officiate the services.

Mrs. Woodson, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas.

Patricia was a member of the St. Landry Catholic Church Altar Society for many years. She enjoyed reading and loved cooking, especially in her black pot. She was always very kind and caring toward others. She also loved and cared very much for her family, her grandbaby and her cats, Sam and Jasmine. Patricia will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Pearly Woodson, of Opelousas, LA; her daughter, Jennifer Woodson and companion, Seth Savoy, of New Iberia, LA; her close friend, who was like a daughter, Tonya Marks, of Carencro, LA; her sister, Betty Soileau Mistric, of North Carolina and her granddaughter, Maya Devi Savoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Elizabeth Cary Soileau and her brother, James "Jimmy" Soileau.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
