Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia Hebert Helton will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rev. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Hebert Helton, age 84, of Opelousas, LA.  She passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Pat was a long time employee of D'avy & Veltin Architectural Firm. She also was an avid reader and an exceptional seamstress. She loved to sew for her children and grandchildren until her eyesight failed her. Pat was very involved with civic organizations. She was a member of the Jaycee Jaynes, the Woman's Club and Pilot Club of Opelousas. Later in life, she became involved with flowers and received her florist license.

She is survived by her children, Dianne (Homer) Bourque, Lynn (Larry) Cassidy, Frank Donald "Buddy" (Pam) Helton, Dana (John) Naquin and Dirk (Malana) Helton; grandchildren, Daine (Rita) Bourque, Denise (David) LeBlanc, Desiree (Daniel) Ardoin, Derek Bourque, Denton (Alyssa) Bourque, Dillan Helton, Bailey Helton Torre, Drake Helton, Justin Helton and Chance Helton; great-grandchildren, Demi Bourque, Drue (DJ) Bellard, Danielle LeBlanc, Dawson LeBlanc, Maci Bergeron, Dallas (Lacey) Ardoin, Leigh Ardoin, Reed Ardoin, Evie Barber, John Barber, Summer Torre, Gus Torre, Macaulay Torre, Ryley Bourque, Kynlee Bourque, Analyce Helton, Hunter (Ashleigh) Goodwin, Skylar (Chase) Lewis, Stormy Goodwin and Cameron Branch; and great-great grandchildren, Archer Hebert, Dakota Bellard, John-Reed Ardoin, Hudson Goodwin and Haleigh Goodwin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Helton; her parents, Joseph Hall Hebert and Anna Lee Speyrer Hebert; and her sisters, Marie Amy and Rita Potter.

Pallbearers will be Daine Bourque, Derek Bourque, Denton Bourque, Drake Helton, Justin Helton, Chance Helton and Dillan Helton.

Readers will be Denise LeBlanc and Desiree Ardoin.

Gift Bearers will be Maci Bergeron, Danielle LeBlanc, Demi Bourque, Drue Bellard, Summer Torre, Evie Barber, Macaulay Torre and Analyce Helton.

Visitiation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m.  by Deacon Tom Lindsey.
