Patricia Castille

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patricia Chachere Castille on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Visiting will begin in the home of her youth, LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until she is transferred to church for an 11:00 rosary followed by the Mass. Monsignor Keith DeRouen will be the celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Castille, who was a native and resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her residence. She faithfully attended Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church where she had been a member of the Ladies' Altar Society, sewing many of the priests' vestments. She had a strong devotion to the rosary, the Blessed Mother, and Eucharistic Adoration. She loved gardening, was an avid birder, and loved traveling with her husband, Paul, and their friends.

In her youth, Patricia worked with her father at Louisiana Wholesale Drugs. She attended St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics.

She is survived by her son, Gary Castille; her daughters, Geralyn Castille Gillespie and husband, Ted; Lynda Castille Robichaux and husband, Albert; Johanna Castille Riviere and husband, Dean; Rachel Castille Cole and husband, Paul; her sister, Jeannine Chachere Wallace and her brother, Douglas Chachere. Her 13 grandchildren were proud to call her Gram; Erin Gillespie Granger, Elizabeth Robichaux Froeba, Patrick Robichaux, Garett Robichaux, Martha Robichaux, Lauren Riviere Vidrine, Jake Alan Riviere, Lucas Dean Riviere, Joshua Cole, Olivia Cole, Andrew Cole, Miriam Cole, Charlotte Cole; she has 2 great-grandchildren, Liam Joseph Granger and Adelaide Elaine Cole with 2 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leopold "Paul" Anthony Castille; her parents, Anthony "Tony" Chachere and Patricia Kerr Chachere; her daughter, Mary Virginia Castille; and her brothers, Anthony Chachere Junior, Donald Chachere and Alex Chachere.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Patricia will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her. Her family would like to thank her wonderful and loving caregivers. In lieu of flowers, they humbly request masses for the repose of her soul.
