Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Parral Jean D.B. Schexneider, age 76, on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with interment in the St. Leo Church Mausoleum. Father Ken Domingue will conduct the services.
Parral, who was a native of Church Point and a resident of Leonville, died at 5:30 a.m. at her residence on Friday, February 26, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Maxine May Breaux of Opelousas, La. her son, Jammie Lee Breaux of Opelousas, LA. her brother, Raymond Doucet of Lawtell, La. daughterinlaw, Gwen S. Breaux her stepchildren, Joseph Schexneider and wife, Tina, of Leonville, La. Russell Schexneider and wife, Judy, of Port Barre, La. Melinda Allemond and husband, Onezime, of Port Barre, La. Helen Theriot and husband, Bobby, of Prairie Ronde, La. Betty Provost of Opelousas, La.: Linda Robin and husband, Dale, of Port Barre, La. and Margaret Beard and husband, Michael, of Washington, La. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Jammie Blaine Breaux, Holly Comeaux, Jason Breaux, Heather Hartley, Danielle Hartley, Victoria Breaux and her 4 greatgrandchildren: Seth Breaux, Ethan Mudge, Laney Comeaux and Collin Comeaux.
She was preceded in death by parents, Mae and Elie Doucet her first husband, Curley Joseph Breaux her second husband, Wilfred Shorty Schexneider her sister, Barbara Doucet her brother, Leroy Doucet her son, Rickey Joseph Breaux and her daughter, Darlene Marie Breaux.
Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Pallbearers will be: Joey Doucet, Jammie Blaine Breaux, Danielle Hartley, Jason Bourque, Jason Breaux and Neil Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jammie Lee Breaux and Matthew Provost.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dean and Van Broussard who have been there for Parral Schexneider as best friends throughout the years, Lisa Mudge for being there when Parral needed, Earline and Louis Lavergne for being there for the family when we called and taking care of Parral when the family needed, and Lee Brown and family for being such great friends and supporters when the family needed. Finally, they would like to thank all those that made her last few weeks the easiest.
