Opelousas- Funeral services for Osa Jones Dupre, age 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, followed by interment in the St. Peters Catholic Church Cemetery. Father Mark Melancon will officiate the services.
Osa Jones Dupre, who was a resident of Washington, died at 5:50 p.m. on April 3, 2008 at Opelousas General Health Systems.
Mrs. Dupre is survived by her daughter, Faye Dupre Lee and her husband, Sherron, of Grand Prairie; her brother, James William Jones and his wife, Barbara, of Baton Rouge; her sisters, Darnell Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Dolores Jeansonne of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by one grandchild, Donna Lee Perron of Plaisance; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Lafleur of Plaisance, Danelle Lafleur of Ville Platte, Dustin Perron of Plaisance and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Dupre; her brothers, Ervin Jones and Willray Jones, Jr.; her sister, Cammy Dupre; a grandchild, Sandy Lee Lafleur, and her parents, Willray and Rose Pitre Jones.
Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, April 4, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008, until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
