A loving father, son, husband, brother, uncle and patriot who dedicated his life to our National Defense has left us on July 10, 2021, at his home.

Dean, as his family and friends called him, was born September 13, 1964, to Louis Artigue, Jr. and Sandra LeBlanc Artigue.  He attended and graduated Port Barre High in 1982, went to LSU, graduated in 1986.  After graduating from LSU, he moved to Virginia to work for the CIA, Raytheon and to raise his sons.  He spent a few years in the Dallas area where he attended UT Dallas & earned his Master of Science Management and Administrative Sciences Degree.  He moved back to Virginia for several years then relocated to the Denver area to continue work at a Raytheon facility, where he later retired.  He was diagnosed with ALS in January 2018 and due to the rapid progression of his ALS his life expectancy was less than a year.  Having reunited with his high school sweetheart in 2017, they finally married in July of 2018. With Paula by his side, he fought the good fight and that gave him three and a half years with the love of his life.

He leaves to mourn his wife Paula Guillory Artigue of Carencro; his sons, Christopher Dean Artigue of Seattle, WA; and Ryan Peter Artigue of Fairmont, WV.  He also leaves his bonus children, Ashley Erin Grand and Parker James Grand of Carencro; his mother, Sandra LeBlanc Artigue of Port Barre; his siblings, Vanessa Artigue Deville (Kenny), Justin Artigue (Stacey) both of Port Barre; and Jeremy Artigue (Lisa) of St. Augustine, FL. He is survived by his mothers-in-law: Bernice Ducharme of Carencro and Mary Jane Guillory of Port Barre; 3 brothers-in-law: Cheyenne Guillory of Swords, Curley Guillory of Port Barre, and Colin Taylor of Japan.  He leaves behind two nieces: Janice Lee Ann Artigue and Lauren Anne Deville; a great-nephew, Baehn Scott Ledoux; and lastly his wonderfully faithful dog, Victor.

He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Artigue, Jr., maternal grandparents, Oliver Dean LeBlanc and Ethel Ryder Sylvester, Hillred “Hick” Sylvester; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Louis & Agnes Castille Artigue, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Artigue, Ryan Artigue, Justin Artigue, and Barry Stagg.
