Odile Marie Chautin Ardoin

Odile Marie Chautin Ardoin, age 84, a cherished soul who graced this world with her presence, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. She is leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services for Odile will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La.  Father Lambert Lien will conduct the service. The burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

The visitation will take place in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ardoin, Mark Ardoin, David Mallet, Andy Vige, Thomas Lemaire and Cody Mallet. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Ardoin, Chase Mallet and Carson Mallet.

Odile was born on December 30, 1939, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Odile's journey was marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. 

In her younger years Odile loved being outdoors, fishing, dancing, being a majorette in high school and playing sports. Summers held a special place in her heart as she relished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons William "Jay" Ardoin (Danette) and Mark Ardoin (Susan); her daughters, Monica Mallet (David) and Leah Vige' (Andy); her brother, Joseph "Sonny" Chautin; her thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and a host of Godchildren. 

Odile was preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Ardoin; her parents, Clebert Chautin and Josie Myer Chautin; her sisters, Mae Chautin, Bea Grimmett, Eula Ortego, Emma Ardoin, as well as an infant sister, Anna Josie Chautin. 

We celebrate her life knowing that she has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul find eternal peace.
