Octavia Richard

Funeral services for Octavia J. Tave Richard will be held Saturday August 4, 2007 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Monsignor Louis Melancon will conduct the services. Interment to follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Pallbearers will be Blane Fontenot, Dirck Fontenot, Brandon Prudhomme, Dustin Venable, Christopher Scott and Joe Heintz.

Mrs. Richard, age 81, a resident of Opelousas died Wednesday August 1, 2007 at her residence. She was a sales clerk and co-owner of Richard and Prudhomme Mobile Homes. She also taught CCD at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and also belonged to the Bellevue Rosary Group.

Survivors include 2 sons; Larry Prudhomme and his wife Josie Daigle Prudhomme of Opelousas and Mitch Prudhomme and his wife Charlotte Duhon Prudhomme of Grand Prairie, 3 daughters; Mona Prudhomme Fontenot and her husband Terry of Lafayette, Karen Prudhomme Scott of Opelousas and Vickie Prudhomme Venable and her husband Roger of Terry, MS., brother; Austin Jones, Jr., sister; Lydie Stelly of Grand Prairie, 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Austin Jones, Sr. and Armosa Trouille Jones, 1st husband; L.G. Prudhomme, 2nd husband; Hubert Richard, son in law; Dennis Scott, sisters Mabris Ortego and Jeanette Jean Vidrine and a brother Stafford Jones, Sr.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am until 9:00pm and on Saturday from 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Friday.
