Novella Sebastien

Opelousas - A Memorial Service will be held for Novella Sebastien, age 76, at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA. Burial will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Novella, a resident of Opelousas, LA and former resident of Metairie, LA, died on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her residence.

Novella worked for Pan American Airlines during the Vietnam War and did one flight to Vietnam once a month to pick up our soldiers to fly them to Guam for rest and relaxation. When she returned to Louisiana she worked for Optyal, the largest optical company in the world which was based in Germany. After her retirement with Optyal she returned to New Orleans and opened a Merle Norman Cosmetics and gift shops until her retirement in March of 2013 after 25 years in business. Novella will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her nephews, Christopher Babin of West Palm Beach, FL; Mark Holden and wife, Diane, of Opelousas, LA; Tyler Smith of Opelousas, LA; Blaine Smith, of Opelousas, LA; her nieces, Melissa Holden Smith of Opelousas, LA; Melanie Benoit Doucet and husband, Charles, of Opelousas, LA; Lori Nichole Benoit of Opelousas, LA; Camille Sebastien Perry and husband, Brian, of Lafayette, LA and their daughter, "C.C." Perry; her brothers, James "Butch" Sebastien and wife, Linda, of Plaisance, LA and her sister, Jane Sebastien Holden of Opelousas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Doristine Reed Sebastien and her sister, Mary Lee Sebastien.
