Norman Plaisance

Krotz Springs A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Norman Thomas Plaisance at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, La. Reverend Chanh Nguyen will Celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery.

Mr. Plaisance, age 79, a resident of Krotz Springs, La., died on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System.

Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an original member of the Two OClock Hunting Club. He also was a retired State of Louisiana Employee. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Belva Plaisance of Krotz Springs, La. his son, Ricky Plaisance and wife, Myra of Krotz Springs, La. his stepsons, Barry Smith and wife, Susannah of Krotz Springs, La. Neal Smith of Youngsville, La. his stepdaughters, Sharon Edge and husband, Tony of Milton, Fl. Angela Williams and husband, Bert of Krotz Springs, La. and his sisters, Verna LaCombe and Essie Dalfrey both of Fordoche, La. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 32 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Ducote Plaisance his parents, Alvin and Annie Plaisance his son, James Plaisance his grandson, James Plaisance, Jr. and his sister, Elma E. Ardis.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
