Nora Mae Richard

Opelousas - Nora Mae Richard, age 94, peacefully departed this life on October 4, 2024, at the Oak Lane Wellness & Rehabilitation Center in Eunice, Louisiana. Born on June 27, 1930, she graced this world enriching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Funeral services for Nora will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the St. Landry Catholic Church Mausoleum, where family and friends may gather to honor her memory.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Richard, Tommy Richard, Joey Briley, C.J. Briley, Derek Briley and Scott Briley.

Nora was a nurturing spirit, a loving wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother. She always found joy in cooking meals for family and friends. She possessed a remarkable culinary talent, and many would attest that she was a very good cook. An avid reader, Nora found solace in the pages of her favorite books. Crocheting provided her not only with leisure but also a medium to express her love and creativity.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Richard and his wife, Susan; Glenn Richard and his wife, Suzanne; her daughters, Pam Ozenne and her husband, Billy; Kathleen Taylor and Joanne Briley and her husband, Butch. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Homer Richard; her parents, Mike David, Sr. and Mildred Jay David; her brother, Mickey David and her sister, Agnes Granland.

In her passing, Nora leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to inspire love and kindness in all who were touched by her life.
